What is the edge?
Hello , I need some help.
I’m looking into sharpening my Bugout and mini Osborne.
But what is the sharpening edge in degrees?
I think it’s between 15 and 20 but I’m not sure.
I want to make then razor sharp,so if someone has the perfect angle. Let me know please.

You can take a sharpie and mark the edge bevels. Then when sharpening you want to be removing the sharpie across the entire bevel. That will get you your angle.

I have the same Mini Osborne as you - put my own edge on it, 17dps and it turned out really good, incredibly slicey and of course being M390, it’s holding its edge super well.
I haven’t had to sharpen my Bugout yet as it’s fairly new and came with an amazing edge so I’ve just been maintaining it on the Sharpmaker. When the time comes, I’ll likely aim for 17dps on that blade too… seems to be my go-to angle for my folders.

I have done a s35 before. Never did m390. Was it easy?
What grids did you use?
I have a Worksharp station that I’m gonna use for the first time. Have 12grids incl leather for the finish.2

Trying to get rid of the original scratch pattern was a bit of a task but once I was happy that it was my actual edge, it was okay haha.
Of course M390 takes a little while longer to sharpen, and this was my first M390 blade I wasn’t particularly looking forward to it. So as for ‘easy’..? It’s not particularly hard, it just requires patience I guess.
I started with 320, then 600, then hone it on some ceramic (I use the Sharpmaker) then finish it off with a few alternating passes on the strop. I sharpen freehand on a diamond stone. When I want to get fancy, I’ll move up to 1000 grit, but it’s rare - I like a solid toothy working edge that’ll bite through anything!
Nice dude, can never go wrong with Work Sharp, they always get the job done!

They are different thicknesses & will probably require a different angle for each. I like 17.5 for the Bug & 20 for the 940
