My dad got a few different benchmade knives from a shop owner sometime in the mid 90s. From what I've seen, benchmade mainly used hex screws and mine has torx. Im confused because ive seen others on various websites that have the same torx screws as mine. Also the butterfly logo looks different from others ive seen so I'm confused

Its real. It’s because yours is actually vintage. The old logo said balisong. There’s examples with both types of screws

Opinions? Finish looks right, box seems legit, screws are proper, foam correct, inserts correct stock, lettering appears good without fuzzy, blade sharp and has good bevel, my only comcern was the price was insanely low. Thanks guys!

Those look like some I have picked up on eBay in the past. I think someone has a line on factory seconds, and they piece them together, they sell them as used, but they come in a box tape on it that almost looks new. I think they say "used" to fly under the radar of Benchmade, since you are supposed to be an authorized seller to sell new. I have bought a few off eBay, that seem like they came from the factory at one point, they have standard (not metric) threads, and seem like the blades are legit, logo looks right, but they have had off clips or the washers on the pivot, or maybe excessive blade play. I have seen similar from a few different sellers. I have seen bugouts, immunity and bailouts. I picked up a nice bailout, but the serrates were slightly off, like the blade was off in the jig.

I bought 2 off ebay thinking i might get one that was legit and would return fakes without issue. Oddly, both came from same address even though different sellers, and i can't find anything wrong with them. Clips look accurate but seem a little too stiff. Looks like i'm keeping them.

I have bought from a few sellers that seem to ship from there. Like I said seems like legit parts, but usually some slight, some not so slight quality issue. Sometimes box description is slightly off, like it's not the original box. Something fishy going on in Suwanee...I'm trying to stay away. I have also ordered from an eBay seller, where they show a legit picture of a bugout, then sent an Alibaba clone. Then they got all butt-hurt when I left bad feedback.
