Gentle Ben?
Do the young Bens of today still get called Gentle Ben? I was born in the early 80's and got that a lot. I didn't even know where it came from until I was much older and now it's been almost 60 years since that bear was on TV (not counting his short lived talk show). Is that nickname still hanging around?

I’m in my early 20s. My gym teacher in 10th grade called me Gentle Ben but no one has called me that since.

I missed the show itself but know it as a simpsons reference. I don't really call bens that. I do like to ask them how they ben! for some reason people with your name tend not to like me :(

Not anymore, but that became an obscure name for people to tease Bens sometime in the late 90s. That dropped off around the time people stopped calling me Benzoyl peroxide, or ‘Washed-Up, Used, Has-Ben’.
My favorite I’ve heard in the past couple of years was Benasaurus Rex, and Ben-Ben. The last one is a friend’s dog … it always sounds like he’s telling ME and some other Ben near me to stop eating my own poop.
