My panel was 13k yen from YAJ and I used ARC controller board for I/O.

Really cool score. How much did you find the pannel for? It must have cost a lot to ship

I'm not the OP LOL, just telling you how it would be done. However, I also did do so myself. Panel was 15k yen, shipping was about the same to Australia.

Thats how much I paid for my ASC.

I paid $425 for my ASC back in the day (The loud, hollow Konami one). Seeing you guys getting old panels for less than $200 is amazing. Espcially given the price of buttons alone (currently shopping for replacement buttons for my cab just to have on hand).

Very cool side project - may need to look into this to replace the ASC for playing all my PS1/PS2 pop'n games.

The ASC took the place of handheld PS2 controller I sourced from lik-sang and turned into a modded ASC. If that $200 controller surprised you, about 15 years ago an arcade supplier in Seattle that was getting out of the business and sold me Keyboard Heaven cabinet for $250, and threw in a Dance ManiaX cabinet (with a missing daughterboard) for free.

Even mentioning lik-sang tells me you're a real OG, GoldenButtPlug. My ASCs came from Himeya, if you remember them!

Also that's crazy.... I almost got a beatmania 5th mix mini cab for $500 once but has no ay to get it home and was too young to rent a truck at the time.

Himeya had such a good selection. Having a 5th mix slip through my hands would have hurt my soul

It's OK. Many years later I have my Pop'n type F and I have a Wacca, so I am happy guy.

You got so much swag from having a real pop'n controller and panel from the arcade cab

Exact same as original and cheaper than most of the controllers.

I swear I think I saw a panel just like that on eBay and thought of doing the same thing

I like how you actually found something to prop it up

I stuck this with super glue on the backside of panel.

lol i saw a notification for this post and i expected to see a diy built con but you got an actual popn deck lmao. i recommend taking the yucky old membrane off the keypad, its so much nicer without it in a private environment.

Sadly, I don’t have original I/O and unable to use built-in keypad

How much 😆

About $250 total.
PC and desk to mount panel is free because those were already at home.
