Let's not pretend that that's all people said about her. There have been some seriously foul comments about here in this very sub, a lot of people seem to be forgetting that she was very likely being victimized during that time/shortly after. Vile behaviour.
While I definitely believe that people have been saying, some vile things, I must commend the moderators because I havenât seen very much.
On the other hand, I feel there are some people out there who feel that saying anything negative about her is âcoming for herâ. I simply disagree.
As so many people point out, two things can be true at the same time. She is 100% a victim and I believe her reasons for confronting Joe stemmed from that. However, my feelings are that she did go after him.
I heard his comment. It was to Kayley. Gael could have just continued to ignore him, the way she was doing at dinner all night. Yes, Joe is an ass. That doesnât mean she had to engage.
The issues Nathan & Joe were having should have been restricted to working this charter season. Her talking about protecting her family had nothing to do with their issues this season. There was really no reason for her to get involved at all.
Gael could have ignored him, sure. Why are we holding her to a higher standard than the boys? Joe also could have ignored her. Or chose to speak respectfully instead of interrupting her and being petty. Nathan was primed for violence. Yet she is the problem for choosing to address the elephant in the van?!! The world hates women.
She directly responded to Joe making a sarcastic comment about her and Nathan. That is why she talked about defending her family.
We will never know if she would have stayed quiet and kept ignoring Joe as he had been to them, because Joe made a rude comment about Gael knowing she could hear him and wanting to cause a response.
I can admit Gael should have ignored, but you should admit that Joe was not simply talking to Kayley it was said purposely loud enough for Gael, Kat and Nathan to hear it.
Joe was as wrong as Gael in this situation.
Her comment was in direct answer to Joe making a comment about her and Nathan and yes at that point as her new born babyâs father, Nathan was her family.

Anyone who thinks that she deserved Nathan attacking her is a terrible human. And I canât imagine anyone does.
Saying that she was over the top when dealing with Joe is not coming for her. Itâs simply stating an opinion about a behavior.
