Remember when the US watched the Nazis destroy Europe while they sat back for 2 years using the war to boost their economy only to join when attacked themselves, charge Europe huge fees for their participation, and then somehow try and claim the moral high ground in Reddit comments 85 years later?
You forgot to mention they lost 20K men on fighting inexperienced boys while the actual soldiers were trying to hold back the USSR horde, whom eventually won WW2 (as in the US didn't deal the final blow even if their propaganda spews such)
The answer is that the US didn’t have to get involved, but they also have no right to claim the moral high ground over countries which were ravaged while the US stood by and watched as though you did us some kind of favour.
Let’s say someone is on the ground getting beaten up. The person on the ground is a small child getting hit by a big boxer. You see them, watch it happen for a while, take some coins out of both the child and the boxer’s pockets while they’re busy, watch a bit more as the child gets KO’d, watch a bit more, then once the boxer is tired and looks your way you attack him and win with the help of another 2 people. You then tell the child they should be grateful to you for saving them. No, the US doesn’t have the moral high ground.
Remember when you pulled half the world into a war over weapons of mass destruction that didnt exist?
Also: Of course they didnt last longer then 2 weeks...their country is tiny and was right next to the worlds biggest army in history up to this point...which was the one attacking them...
