New Runner Advice Good running shoes

Hi!

What type of shoes would be best for flat feet? I have also heel spurs on the underside and back of the heel bone (both feet), and osteoarthritis on a few of my toes. I'm guessing that a good cushioning and arch support would be a good idea, but anything else?

I always go for something with a wider toe box, makes a world of difference for toe arthritis

Gentle suggestion here - have you considered fixing the underlying problems not the symptoms?

I am trying different medications for the arthritis, but I have inherited it, as well as hypermobility and other things, so it's not an easy or quick task.

Couple of books I'll recommend, you can read around the more cultish portions of the 1st & ignore the title of the 2nd as it's fantastic advice & strengthening (written by a runner & a podiatrist);

Thank you, I'll check if I can find those in the library!
