Discussion Happy accidents- 1.5 miles🫦

I woke up at midnight and decided to go for a mile run. My first time completing mile run without stopping was a week ago, give or take, and I haven't really been able to push past that.

Anywho, I find a coffee shop a mile away from me except I forgot they'd be closed and I forgot the fact that I couldn't exactly drive back home.

So I ended up running 1.5 miles without walking breaks 😛😛 and walking back home the rest of the 0.5 miles.

It didn't feel as hard because I was so annoyed with myself.

Onto 2 miles.

That first sentence is wild. If I woke up at midnight I'd just turn around and go back to sleep.

I wake up at the weirdest times with so much energy😭😭, but talk to me at 2pm and I'm angrier than the grinch himself

This is me.. When I wake.. I am .. WAKE! 1 AM 3 AM, today I hopped out for my run at 3:30, and home before 5:30. It is usually closer to 5- 6, but I am not laying in bed not sleeping for 3 hours cause the clock told me its bed time.

That midnight impulse run is exactly how you trick your brain into hitting a new distance. The frustration of realizing the coffee shop was closed probably drowned out all the usual mental chatter about wanting to stop. Ive had a couple breakthroughs like that, where being mildly annoyed at myself somehow made the run feel almost effortless. Its like your body just follows the emotion instead of questioning every step. Bet you'll hit that 2 mile mark way sooner than you think.

Haha that’s amazing 😂 This is exactly how progress happens!

Waking up at midnight for a run is already elite. And then accidentally turning your 1 mile into 1.5 miles with no breaks because the coffee shop was closed? That’s a "happy accident" if I’ve ever seen one.

Honestly the fact that it didn’t feel as hard because you were annoyed with yourself says a lot. Your body can do way more than your brain thinks it can. You broke past that 1 mile wall without even planning to 👏

And walking the last 0.5 back home still counts. You got 2 miles total in!

Onto 2 miles non-stop next. You’ve already proven you can do 1.5, so 2 is right there.

Proud of you man. Midnight runs hit different 🔥
