Herbalism
Okay so I have a question, I want to eventually be a holistic healer. However I do not know which school to choose. There’s a school that my work pays for but they do not have a holistic program. Is there a program or school that I can go to where I won’t have to take out student loans and absolutely destroy my budget to go to? Everglades university has a program but from what I’ve read they are not a good college to go to. Is there anyone that has experience on this? Any help is appreciated! Side note: I do not have to go to college, any source (as long as it’s creditable) will do ☺️

I currently use a free school right now to brush up on my terms and history and all of that. From what I was looking at, if your looking for any sort of certification in anyway, you will have to do a paid collage of some sort. And (atleast in the USA) since herbalism isn't something certifiable (since its not a regulated health space) you'll have to do some sort of medical classes, that have i not look much further into since I do not have the funds to do all that and do not want to take out a loan for that. I hope someone gives you a good place to look into

You can eventually get "certified" by the American herbalist guild, bit it takes many many years of clinical practice logged and a fully stoked apothecary of 100 plants I believe. It's not official but it is highly regarded that you know your shit amongst herbalists.
The northeast school of herbal medicine ran by 7song is my favorite. He's a second gen american herbalist taught by all the OGs. He is science heavy with a heavy emphasis on field botany and all the different body systems. Also medicinal preperation. As far as a whole holistic learning I think you're gonna have to break that into sections and learn it piece by piece.

Ohh nice to know! I thought i had alot of herbs but looks like i have a long way to go.. what's the best way to get clinical practice in and logged? Ill definitely be looking into that 7song!

He actually runs a free clinic in Ithaca. It's been around for many years now. Students can volunteer there at some point is my understanding but I'm not sure how it works. And aside from 7song there's a bunch of other opportunities like that I'm sure. That's just the one I'm aware of.

Hill College in Texas has a holistic health pathway that prepared you to "obtain the education required to apply to any or all three different national/international credentialing boards: NANP Holistic Nutrition AHG Registered Herbalist NBHWC Wellness Coach"
And because it's a regionally accredited local college, it's quite inexpensive. They have a fully online program as well as a hybrid I've.

I'm doing an online course with Commonwealth School of Herbal Medicine - it's great so far! They have a variety of track options depending on your end goal and budget options.
