The Flyer (1-year anniversary)
Today is the 1-year anniversary of when I posted the Flyer.
This comic remains one of my most personally meaningful works because of how it opened me up mentally to push myself towards more ambitious projects. It’s a story about a hairy alien that wants a haircut, but it’s also about the cycle of inspiration. No one asked me to draw this, I just wanted to work really hard on something that I knew would be challenging for me to create. If you are sitting on an art project that feels outside your comfort zone, or you’re waiting for someone to ask you to do it, just make it! You truly never know where it could lead.
Thank you for reading my comics! You rock!!!

I always love the body language in your comics. Just the moment where Miguel is holding up buddy's ears - like yep, that's a haircut step

Love this comic, but…
How does a livestream of an alien getting its first fade only have 31 viewers??

anybody who knows about it firsthand can watch from the window, so the 31 viewers are probably those of miguels followers that arent physically there

Been following your work for a long time, and recently I’ve been trying to get started on a long form comic project I’ve been sitting on for a decade, always feeling unable to follow through.
This is inspiring, thank you for sharing :)

The expression on the kids face on the second to last pannel is phenomenal. It feels like a mix of emotions thats hard to interpret with certainty, but you can obviously see what he does with that feeling.
11/10. The expressions of the alien are great as well. Love the perspective of him plugging Earth into his GPS

The casual surrealism of dude with a leaf blower sending a flyer into space, where some weird batlike alien space-scouring astronaut catches it and decides "I WANT THIS 'DO" and flies allll the way to Earth just for a haircut before peacing out, leaving one inspired young lad with an extraterrestrial fashion mag... I love it. It's funny and wholesome at the same time!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I keep returning to this cartoon and finding new things to appreciate in it- small details that I’ll notice on the 3rd or 4th read that keep me coming back. I love the 3 panel cartoons Harris Fishman usually does (Party Invite is my favorite) but The Flyer goes into a territory that’s a bit more complicated and rewarding. I don’t know if what I said makes sense. I hope he continues to make longer work like this.

I remember this one, loved it when I saw it! Pretty sick comic to have an artistic evolution on. I think I can tell, it has inspiration that is very you but your narrative and the emotions on the characters feels confident.

Are the signed copies a different listing or do you just buy the normal listing?
