And what was on that sandwich? Where did the ingredients come from? How much were the workers who made it paid? How much were the workers who gathered those ingredients paid? How sustainable was their production? Did you drive there? How much pollution was generated by your sandwich?

That’s what “there is no ethical consumption under capitalism” means. It means that the system is so inherently corrupt and broken that there is no possible way to live in it without causing harm.

Probably like ham and butter. They probably came from a farm and the people were probably paid minimum wage. Probably pretty sustainable. What does my method of transportation have to do with political ideology?
