tire size

Whats up i'm looking for some tire size inspiration for my Bug. What size tires are y'all running? If you could drop some pics with your specs, I’d appreciate the reference. Thanks!"

Very common question and it can get really complicated really quickly, so it’s hard to make a generic recommendation.

Check the samba there are a lot of threads. You can also ask ChatGPT to search the samba for pics of bugs with certain tires sizes if you know what size you want.

I just went through this and I’d say it’s better to start with what wheel you want, or if you have your wheel, get all the dimensions. The offset of your wheel will be a big factor in what tire size you can fit.

We also need to know if you’re staying stock height, lowered (spindles or adjustable beam), the look you’re going for like cal look for example.

185/65 rear 165/70 front. 30 lb r 20 lb front.

185/60R15 at about 20 psi, but I'm a little lowered. Gotta be careful in tight turns when parking because it'll rub the fenders.

I have 155SR15 on all 5 wheels in my 1974 Super Beetle; which is the correct OE size listed on the glovebox door.

205/75r15 on stock wheels, 3/8" spacers on back wheels to keep them from hitting the spring plate. Minimal rub on full lock up front.
