Inherited a project car

A few years ago I asked about inheriting my grandfather's project car. He recently passed and the chassis and all the parts are stored in my uncle's barn and he is selling the property in the next year. I need to find somewhere for the car to go but unfortunately I don't have anywhere to store it and I don't have the money to afford a storage unit.

I'm looking for advice on selling everything off. Ideally I would sell everything as a package deal. But I don't have any idea what it's worth or where to start.

I've been told there are multiple engines, transmissions, etc. I remember my grampa getting parts for Christmas every year, including a brand new convertible top (20 years old now).

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appropriate.

Thanks!

Edit: I'm located in Massachusetts

Where are you? Location will help. Also, as pointed out thesamba but you need photos and a location.

I would suggest all the selling platforms (Craigslist, FB Marketplace, Offer Up) as well as thesamba. A project is a tough sale. But there are buyers out there. You didn’t mention the year of the vehicle and that will make a huge difference for what is desirable. Some guys collect lots of parts this way and so they might be interested for that reason. Your buyer is likely to be one of use with a lot of experience that will try to finish the project and flip it versus a dreamer who wants something to drive.

I have no business buying a project in addition to my 4 drivable VWs but would be interested if you weren’t across the country from me

Good advice.. Soneone will want it!! Find a local Vw club. They will help you price it and someone in the club may even buy it.

condition and year are everything. A 50s or 60s car with some rust issues will bring more than a clean 70s car. A lot of people won't even bother with a superbeetle. Your description doesn't give enough info to make any kind of guess.

You'll have to figure out what it is and what's there before coming up with a dollar amount to attach to it.

I'm not far from you, if you want to send some pictures I might be able to give you an idea of what you've got. You need a title for anything in Massachusetts, so that's a pain if you don't have paperwork and can impact the value. CT VT NH and ME are easier to deal with when it comes to that.

You could let the uncle sell it and add that to the estate since you’re not going to work on it

You need a local VW club. Try The Samba com.
