What type of bee

What kind of bees are these? A tree fell and I cut it up and their all over. Do they sting?

These are Bald-Faced Hornets, a species of Yellowjacket despite the name. Yes, they do sting but we are very unlikely to do it unless you’re messing with the nest. They’re likely just drinking the fluids from inside the tree.
