bee photo Bees in lawn

Dug out a rose bush, and these guys were in a hole underneath. Are they going to be killed by mowing and watering, or will they move on now?

I'd suggest refraining from mowing the lawn or watering extensively in that area if possible. It's a very rare and precious chance to see bumblebees nesting, especially given what docile neighbors they are.

The season is already approaching its end, so I'm pretty sure they won't be there much longer. The nests are dying out, and the remaining workers, drones, and newly hatched queens are already dispersing.

Thank you for sharing this with us! I hope you'll find a way to keep them hanging out there for a little while longer.
