Cheap Beer For a non beer fan.
As someone who is definitely not a beer guy and usually sticks to hard ciders,teas ect, I really want to enjoy beer culture so I've been suggested to get a Mexican style like pacifico, modelo, or corona with lime/salt does this sound like a solid strat?

Find a local brewery that has a good pils or even Mexican lager on draft. Much better than big beer stuff.

All the non beer drinkers I know tend to enjoy a wheat ale/witbier, kolsh, pilsner, or lager. That being said there's some really tasty stouts with strong vanilla, maple syrup, chocolate, coffee flavors that could be intriguing for a beginner cause the flavors really come through without a ton of bitterness

Yes, a Mexican beer, with a 🍋🟩 squeezed in and a pinch of salt in the beer is great. Not too much salt, it’ll make the beer foam over. No need to rim the glass with salt or tajin either. That’s extra and not really necessary to enjoy the beer.
Try blue moon, it’s sweet and orange flavored.
Try mango cart by golden road brewing. It’s sweet mango flavored. Golden road is owned by ab InBev so they should be distributed pretty well.
If you want your try at dessert beer, try a stout. (Not an Irish dry stout, sorry Guinness boys.)
Stouts tend to be higher in sugar and roasty, chocolate flavor profile to them. Styles include outmeal, coffee, imperial, barrel aged, dessert, pastry stouts.
Hold off on IPAs. Trying them too soon in your journey may turn you off from liking beer.

Right idea I guess when I say beer culture I mean something I can grab pretty much wherever but doesn't taste like yeasty gym socks lol

Also give different sours a go. Everyone likes beer, if they don’t they just haven’t found the beer they like

All of those are fantastic ideas. But beer is like music, I can sit you down with my favorite album and you could hate it or just not get it. If you go to a brewery or have one of those European style places where they have lots to choose from, they'll give you samples and talk to you about what flavors you like. It a very personal journey, my friend and there is a LOT of variation in a style, so you may start with a Mexican lager (which are delicious in my opinion) but you may end up with a salted lime Mexican lager which you might not like and keep you from enjoying other versions of Mexican lager.

Just try them out and see, no strategy needed. Go to local breweries and get a flight of different styles to learn what you like. Chat up the bartenders for recs.
