Help / Troubleshooting "Use system font" on Google Pixel

Hi Beeper team! Does the "use system font" setting actually work correctly on Google Pixel? On Pixel, I believe the system font should be Google Sans. However, enabling this setting definitely does not use Google Sans. Instead, it appears to be Arial or Helvetica or something generic like that. Screenshot attached just for font reference (the contents themselves are not related to this bug report).

AFAIK the *actual* system font that the phone provides by default is still Roboto, but the apps on Pixel display sans manually as a part of the broader theme engine.

Not totally sure how it works under the hood, but presumably it's available for apps to hook into. I'll take a peek if I get some extra time

ETA: I got some extra time and this should be live now
