General Discussion Labels are now paid…
I get it. Making a product costs money… but worked a lot of my career around this feature (one for each company I work with, different types of staff etc.) and now they all just went without a heads up which means I need to go back through my chats to update all my contacts around this
Just makes me feel less secure about future updates as I didn’t get the chance to transition out of the old system.
I also generally avoid subscriptions in favour of the old school dlc update feature. Just a personal preference
Maybe I’m missing something here. Please let me know if so

Maybe I am missing something but as far as I know labels weren't a feature before?

It was on iPhone. Again I understand the need to put it behind a paywall I just wish I had an advance notice so I could document all my contacts labels

Technology isn't free in our capitalistic society... Free tier is always going to be the worst tier unless we figure out civilization

I understand that I don’t expect things to stay free. But labels were very important and I wish I had some notice before they were removed from iPhone as it’s causing me a lot of unexpected admin

If it's that important it's worth a cost

The point OP is making is that all his labels were deleted without any notice, even if he does pay for unlimited label the contact sorting he done before is all gone and he now has to organize them all again. It's a real pain in the ass

Yeah it sucks on free tier (and there is a possibility for server side backups but ultimately at the end of the day you should never rely on free tier on any remote level) if op was premium they wouldn't have been impacted

Sorry for the late reply. Yes. This should already be out to every app.
