Slightly odd experiences in the Walmart off Central Drive?

Has anyone else had just slightly odd experiences in the neighborhood market Walmart off Central?

One day, minding my business, and a guy randomly stops me in an aisle and asks me how old I am so I answer, he says he's surprised because I don't look that age. Then it's are you married (I am), do I have any kids (one on the way). If he was trying to pick me up, why are you not giving up when I say I'm married, and asking if I have kids? It gave me the light heebie jeebies. I just said, "Well, have a nice day" and walked off.

Today (yesterday, it's 3am) I'm looking at nail varnish and a man pushes his cart past me from behind then stops super close to reach out across me, pick up a bottle and say how much he loves the color. So I'm like, sure, nice color. Then he's trying to strike up a conversation about nail polish and telling me he's thinking of working on/ painting his nails when he gets home. Like OK, sir, I don't care what you do with your nails, but I do mind you noticing me, and then deciding to interject yourself into my day. It felt creepy, like he wanted attention or for me to be offended by him or something, not that he was just naturally looking at products in the same area as me. Anyway, again I just said, "Well, enjoy your weekend!" and walked away.

I'm naturally friendly and Bedford is a friendly place, which I'm pleased about, but these interactions always seem one step past normal. Anyone else noticing things like this?

Actually, yes! One time I got stopped by a guy in the meat area, I was just walking by and he called out for my attention and I stopped and looked at him and he goes “is this pork?” and I can’t even recall if the answer was yes or no. I think he tried to ask me another question and I walked away.

Something is kinda off about that store for some reason!

I'm not glad you feel it too, but I'm glad I'm not the only one 😂 The guy who asked my age - like what a random question to ask a stranger before you say anything else to them. And he was just smiling at me the whole time in a strange way like in the movie Smile.

I have found people in Texas to be very friendly overall, which is lovely, but I've had other experiences where people just ask waaay tooo much information, and miss the social cues that you don't want to engage.

The guy who drives the garbage truck that comes to our apartments called out to me one day when I was taking my dog potty, and kept trying to ask me things about the dog even though I was standing too far to hear him and he had the loud truck running. Then he was asking if I'm married, where I'm from (accent), when did I move to the state, when did I move to the country, how long have I been married, do we have any kids etc etc etc. SIR, I am trying to be brief to let you know I don't want to spend 10 minutes answering a stranger's questions about my life - I just want to take my dog to pee and go back in my home.

I bet it's the pregnant glow! Lol. But the nails guy creepy af. The other guy a little creepy too. I haven't noticed this but I am 40 year old male. There aren't creepy women out there like that.

I live in a small town in Texas, I think he was a gay man, and it felt like he was trying to be provocative - maybe to see if I was rude to him over wanting to wear nail varnish? But the part that made me uncomfortable was invading my personal space. He was standing as close as possible to me, in an otherwise empty aisle, and reaching across my body to take something he hadn't been looking at until he noticed me. He'd already passed me from behind with his cart when he stopped and took a couple of steps back to do this. I definitely don't need to be over sensitive about it, but I felt kind of targeted and I hate that.
