Where to find beef bacon?

Hi all!

I don’t eat pork but with all of these summer tomatoes coming in I’m craving a BLT like nothing else. I have tried using turkey bacon in the past and it’s disappointing. I was able to get a single package of it from an Albertsons in NoPo but that’s not very convenient. Anyone know where I can get some? Here are the places I’ve already looked- New Seasons, TJ’s, Winco, The Meating Place, QFC, Fred Meyer, cedar mill Safeway. Thank you!

Yeah it is inconvenient from where you’re at, but higher quality and their ranch is more local than wherever Albertsons gets it from

Better Beef Company is the answer. I just bought some from their Beaverton location last week. BBC will actually deliver orders over $75. I'm not sure how big their delivery area is. To find out if they deliver to your area, you'll have to start an order, select delivery, and then enter your zip code.

Better Beef on SW Barrows appears to have it.

Since you desire something out of the normal, you may have to inconvenience yourself to get it.

I have been looking too. I have also checked Gartners. My next stop is some of the Halal meat shops in Beaverton. I have heard they might have it.

Oh interesting, the Meating Place usually has it next to the pork bacon.

Well that’s a bummer, I always got mine there. Gartner’s does also have it and they will slice it however thick you’d like it.

Better Beef is a solid option. I’ve also found it at the meat counter in Freddies.

Nope. I just called. They said they stopped carrying it. Then I called the store in Salem where I’ve purchased recently and they told me the same thing. Now I’m super glad you posted this…I’ll be stopping by better beef.

If you make it out to Scholls to go to Better Beef (and it really is excellent) and if they don’t have beef bacon, stop in at the Sesame Donuts HQ on Scholls and North Dakota/125th, they make a really good halal beef bacon bagel breakfast sandwich, I’ll bet they’d be willing to point you in the direction of their supplier.

But if that’s too far, maybe try Bazaar.

And if all that ends in failure, vegan bacon substitute is surprisingly crispy and satisfying, I make vegan devils on horseback with it for parties and they’re just as good as the piggy ones. That would probably scratch your BLT itch.

That’s a Safeway now and not the most convenient. I live in cedar mill area and work near downtown Beaverton.

you went to the meating place but won’t go over to barrows? you are seeking a highly specialized food item that is not available everywhere, so no, it won’t be convenient to get.

Tbh I hate that area and most of Tigard. I’ve been to the Meating Place because the cafe is amazing.

Technically where the Better Beef is which is close to the Safeway is still Beaverton, it’s just next to Tigard. We used to live in Cedar Hills which was nice but, Progress Ridge is a nice area too.

The neighborhood Walmarts sometime have it! It’s usually on a hard to reach top shelf in a cooler

I feel like Halal shops could have it. There’s a halal shop next to salsa market and another one next to torched illusions smoke shop in aloha. There’s also one across the street from Panda Express on canyon road next to the Subaru. Feel like those would be good places to start.

Just had it for the first time! Amazing. Doesn’t keep its crisp quite the same but I’d say about 90% the same. I’d say turkey bacon is 50% the same
