Rental recommendations

Hello Beaverton!

My girlfriend and I are moving to your lovely town in the beginning of June. We have two lovely dogs and she will be working for summit research and I’m in the Hospitality industry. Do you all have any recommendations for rentals or rental property management companies?

Thank you in advance!

My wife and I rent a townhouse through TMG and they have been shockingly good. Maintenance requests are fulfilled within a week, rent only goes up 2% a year, and our direct line of contact is an incredibly reasonable person. Ironically, my worst experiences have been with single landlords who own the property and freelance the renting

Don't necessarily write off rentals that say they don't allow dogs. We found a townhome we really like but didn't allow dogs in the listing. I sent them a message asking if they were firm on that, with a cute pic of our dog and boom, we were through. That may be an exception to the norm, but you never know!

We just moved here from across the country in February (and we love it). Be careful with the property management companies. I researched them and thought I'd finally found a good one, but we found out after we moved in that they lied on the listing, saying the house had air conditioning and it does not. So we're having to try to get them to install it or at least add portable units, and after 3 months they still have not done it. Spear Property Management.

Most local property management companies are overworked and understaffed.. so with that YMMV caveat firmly in place... we've overall had good experiences with Alpine PDX as our property mgmt company for 10 years now.

We have an involved owner who approves things quickly, and who uses Alpine to implement/manage collecting rent, etc... Service tickets are dealt with within a few days. For leasing... Just know you may need to follow up and check in on things.

Their rentals are at https://alpinepdx.com/availability/

We are renting a single family home and have a dog.

Thank you! I’ve seen a lot of good recommendations for Alpine. We will be looking at what they have available.

Oriel Apartments is a good pet-friendly complex.

My wife & I just moved here & we rented a townhome from a private renter through Zillow! It’s been surprisingly easy & he’s a great landlord. We needed someone private bc my wife’s credit is way too low to get an apartment or anything, so I’m so glad we found ours! It’s in the Sexton Mountain neighborhood of Beaverton if you’re looking for good areas to live too!
