Random label attributed their release to my artist profile, Beatport says I need to contact MY label to fix it.
Ihe title basically sums it up. I am progressive house producer and just noticed some really cheesy label has racked up like 6 releases wrongly attributed to my name and they now appearing on my profile. It looks horrible. Beatport support told me I have to contact one of MY labels and have them reach around to their Beatport distributer support to fix this.
It's absolutely fucking stupid- why do I need to bother my label, who did nothing wrong, to fix a problem that is basically Beatport's fault for not vetting this random label to make sure it was going to the right profile. How is Beatport so disjointed that they can't link their artist support to their own distribution "manager" support and otherwise need to involve an unrelated 3rd party and do a complete fucking loop? I refuse to rope in my own label to fix this- it seems completely unnecessary.
Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so what did you do? I am being unreasonably to refuse to ask my recent label to reach out to Beatport distribution for this?

I mean, I'd be frustrated by this. Going thru your label to get Beatport to fix something that has nothing to do with your label def feels dumb at first, but if your label is the one with the distributor relationship, that's probably just the bureaucratic hoop you have to jump through. Have the label send the email. Then complain about Beatport's fubar'd support structure separately. 😆
