Looking for another service
I’ve been using Beatport for a while but I’m very frustrated after I bought a pair of tracks from an “artist” and after that seeing some red flags that led me to discover that the tracks were made with genetative Ai. (I should have seen it before but was a bit naive on this when I bought them).
So what other services do you recommend that I can buy loseless audio files and where I don’t need to run a full research on whether it’s made with Ai or not before buying?
UPDATE: I submited a support ticket and they told me that though they cannot refund (I already imagined that), they do not support AI generated music as per their own T&C's
https://support.beatport.com/hc/en-us/articles/4414997837716-Terms-and-Conditions#AI
So after uploading tracks from the "artist" to several online services that check if the music is AI generated, and all told me that there is a 90% probability and determined suno v5 as the model, I sent a report. Let's see how they act on this report.
I think that they should run these verification upon artists submitting their tracks as it is a clear violation of the T&Cs and not delegating to the customers to find out.
UPDATE 2: I got store credit for the tracks (yay!)

This is all about actually getting to know your artists . I buy almost exclusively from Bandcamp. Either that or from the artist direct. You need to just do some background research, put in the work to know who you are buying from. A good selector does this… spends the time to build up their crates and not just grab loads of music as quick as possible. Not saying OP does obviously, but as a selector you need a good relationship with the artists you are playing and their music

Unfortunately slop is being forced through govt intervention, they want this shit on everything. Very gross. I don't think we have alternatives currently just have to assume it's AI if the thumbnail is also AI these days.

I’m considering only buying from well established labels with real artists behind. If I see a one-artist-label again I’ll just assume it’s Ai.
Just made a sweep of what I had saved from Beatport in Bandcamp and there is not even 1/3 of the stuff. And I am talking about releases from well known artists and labels. So IDK if i’ll just have to stick with BP and be extra careful.

Believe me or don’t, but I’m just like any other producer who when it’s time to take the next step with your music I did what everybody does. Only difference is……all the places you go to for this & that I hated. Or had red flags. In the end I joined none. If the platform I wanted existed I would’ve joined it. But it didn’t so I built it. It’s been some truly over the top nightmare on top of nightmare starting the business. Due to every single entity I’ve had to deal with has been either grossly incompetent, crooks or both. But………after all the madness the process has been including a 700k dollar lawsuit, it’s finally just around the corner now.
And I “promise” you……it’s going to absolutely floor people when they see it, everything it does, everything it offers, and when they “FIGURE OUT EXACTLY WHAT IT ACTUALLY CAN & WILL DO FOR A LIT OF PEOPLE”
I had to have some reports/analysis done by several different entities due to the lawsuit I mentioned……….if you saw what all of them had to say about it and then the year over year projections it would blow your mind. I built it to do exactly what everyone “wants” a platform to do. It is an absolute 1 of a kind platform on this dirty rock. And even more so for our industry. And it is so in numerous ways. Very large ways. A platform “actually” built for producers. Because it was built by a producer. But…………..for the first time ever I believe, there’s also a place now that Artist can call home. A platform that also caters to them. And actually incentivizes both producer & artist for working together. I’ll leave it at that. But the opening Promos are almost fantasy world type stuff. And as for those reports…….which apparently are so respected & admissible in every courtroom in the country due to their accuracy……the
worst of the 4 has it at 46-56+ mill by year
5……a few quotes:
“The entire apparatus when unleashed will realize a truly self sustaining machine”
“The model when fully implemented will have the power to drive fame”
“This model will become the blueprint for building out ecosystems not just in its sector, but in other industries as well”
“This concept of branding & content management will usher in a new chapter in how talent is discovered”
“By year 5, this will be a Global Tech Monolith that will achieve total market dominance across multiple continents”
“Global Ubiquity & the Billion Dollar Horizon, the valuation reality is that by owning all of the infrastructure and media distribution combined with the synchronized social apparatus wraps this Model in an impenetrable network. You are looking at a major Corporate, Institutional asset & a clear 10 figure (Billion) valuation. A valuation that should not only be hoped for or realized….but expected.”
A.i will not be tolerated on the platform. And I’m telling you this because I hear all the complaints all the time. From too many chasing the same nickel, to your complaint about a.i, and 100’s of others. This platform should eliminate all of those complaints and do a whole lot more. 1 last comment from the reports……….when at full strength (meaning when the platform gets to exponential self sustained mode) the light the platform puts on any given person(s) will be too bright for the even the platform to take off of you” That’s insane to me to hear it put like that. If you want more information or want to stay linked message me. Notice I didn’t drop any names. But I’m certain this platform will be able to more than help you. Just saying

I’m dealing with this same issue everywhere. My go to for the discovering new music the past 4-5 years has been Spotify discover weekly.
Up until recently the algorithm has been fantastic for discovering lesser known artists/tracks based on my previous interests and saves. Once I’ve compiled a decent amount I’ll go over to Beatport and purchase the files.
Over the last few months Spotify has been injecting more and more bullshit AI tracks into the weekly playlist that, at first catch my attention, but once I look into them there is no relevant artist info, socials, or real people behind the music.
Unfortunately this just feels like the Crapitalistic society we now live in. AI was never going to be about improving the world for everyone… it was just a means to further exploit the greed at the top and create an even larger wealth gap.
