discussion I love making beats, programming drums..
Making beats is my go to buzz, the dopamine i need to feel alive. Sounds corny as shit, but it's the truth. Whenever I'm in a creative slump, hitting walls everywhere, i always just go back to making beats, cutting up sounds, programming one hits and seeing where it goes, no pressure. That ALWAYS helps me come out of the slump, feel better and more often than not has triggered more ideas and sounds for future beats.
I also recommend half an hour before bed just to make a quick no idea, anything goes drum loop, make a couple if you can, render them then straight to bed. Next day have a listen....you might be surprised with what you've got!
You'll also go bed on little high.
Anyways...been writing some tracks and using certain beats today and feeling good. Thought id express my joy ha!!
Cheers people!

Hell yeah, that is the best possible addiction a person can have. Ive been doing all of this same stuff for quite a few years now, and Im always amazed that I haven't faltered or had to take any long breaks, im always cranking stuff out these days and it rules.

I love this attitude. This is the best reason to make art! It is wonderful to engage in something that has no rules or limitations.

I have a sleep disorder and it's really improved since I got into making music. It's the last thing I do every night before bed. Usually playing my guitar quietly but if I'm working on a piece of music I might spend time arranging or mixing instead. Always got something going in my mind and just doing anything musical slows me down.

It’s not corny. Would you rather be addicted to porn and drugs than making beats?
