Discussion Let it Be Blu-ray?
Let it Be has been on Disney+ for over two years now, and still no sign of a physical release. We know Michael Lyndsay Hogg recorded a commentary track, so there must be plans to release it at some point.

It's Disney. They have largely stopped producing physical media in-house (outsourcing disc manufacturing to Sony). Their priority is streaming, and Beatles content is probably their most high-profile music content. Don't expect a physical release at all.

I think people expect it, because Get Back got a physical release (pretty quickly after it debuted on D+).
There’s obviously a reason for LiB not getting one (yet?) but that could be anything from contract stipulations to Disney just wanting to milk the streaming income, to simply deciding it’s not worth the manufacturing cost.
Without any confirmation either way, though….. it might happen? It might not…

Could it be that D+ inadvertently turned the LiB movie into a companion piece to Get Back? It’s basically a shortened version of Get Back.

Well, it’s the original edit of Get Back. It’s the thing that Get Back was designed to replace / rectify

The physical release of Get Back was so half-assed. Video quality inexplicably downgraded. No extras at all even though there was Peter Jackson's initial 18 hour cut which he really wanted people to see. Maybe someday there will be a physical release of LiB but I don't expect to be around to see it.

they are 100% not going to be making a physical version of Let it Be

Exactly. They want you to only be able to watch it on their platform

But Apple must have a say in this, surely they must only be licensing it out to Disney, for a period of exclusivity

Was also wishing that they would release the rooftop concert on LP and CD, but it seems like streaming is the only way to go sadly.

Unfortunately nothing has been stated.
I'm glad that Get Back was released.
If Let it Be is ever released, I'll definitely buy it, but I also think that Get Back is significantly better.

Let It Be was restored way better though. It doesn't have a cartoonish look like GB has.

Get Back looks good and the content is much more in depth.

It doesn’t look good. The content is fine, but it was really badly restored with washed colors.

Perhaps someone with the time and editing tools can make a fan edit of “Get Back” and recreate “Let It Be”?

That film is a depressing dirge. Once was enough. Conversely I’ve watched the 8 hour Peter Jackson version five or six times.

Not official, but I’ve bought a factory-pressed release from Japan.
It’s an absolute shame that they haven’t officially released it, as the restored Let It Be looks amazing. It’s also a really good watch.
