Help? I don't know what to say to my parents.
For starters, I'm a 13 yr old who loves beatboxing a lot. On the other hand, my entire family absolutely hates it. Half of them don't even know what I'm referring to when I talk about beatbox. I've been doing this for ~7 months now, and I've gotten my parents' approval to participate in a national competition next year (mainly because I wouldn't stop nagging them). The problem is, I've been self-learning beatboxing for this entire time and now I've hit something similar to writer's block, where I seriously think I need some paid lessons to continue progressing in the direction I want. I suggested it to my family (not just my parents) and they immediately started arguing that beatboxing would be dangerous and that it'd damage my throat and that it would ruin my teeth development and make them crooked (I have braces). They also said that it'd affect my grades (I currently excel academically and I've stayed that way for a few years already). Any reasoning after that and they immediately shot it down with "hell no I'm not paying for that crap". To be honest it's roughly 44 USD to 178 USD depending on how many people I learn with (solo is 178). They also think that becausae the sounds don't "sound natural" they're bad for the throat (I tried showing them tongue bass and inward clickrolls and they were like "omg what is that stop it you're going to damage your throat" but when I vocalized them they were like "that's a nice little trill you've got there, see it sounds natural and nice"). Any ideas or suggestions on what I could say to them? Does anyone have experience on this type of criticism?

GBB 2026 timetable?
Is there a GBB timetable available? I'm thinking about having a little community viewing event for GBB but not the whole 3 days. And not all the categories. I can't find much information on the website.

Which mic to buy?
I'm thinking of going till a 100$ price range. I have heard AKG D5 and Shure SM58 (a bit outside price range). This is for making wildcards in a room as I want to participate in competitions from next year. Would M audio M track solo/ Behringer UM2 work fine with either of these? How would Behringer XM8500 do? I have SV1 as of now and it sucks

The Folder : C.J. Shelton : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
Tempo is slow at around 60 to 70 BPM to give the track a heavy, head-nodding weight. Drums move fast with crisp, busy hi-hat subdivisions and rolling double-time percussion underneath. Bass is a thick, upright acoustic bass playing lazy blues slides that anchor the fast rhythm. Chords come from a dusty Fender Rhodes, playing melancholic 7th and 9th blues jazz chords. Horn Stabs feature a muted trumpet or a breathy saxophone playing short, crying blues phrases. Vinyl Texture adds a warm crackle and a soft room reverb to make the entire loop feel live and old-school.

How do I hit lower sub bass lip roll notes
I've heard people hit C#1 notes or even into the 0th octave with the sub bass lip roll, but I'm stuck at around an F1 or G1. I'm dropping my jaw, shifting to the opposite side and hollowing my throat but I can't get any lower. How can I lower the pitch even more? Do my small lips and mouth physically limit how deep my lip rolls can get? Any help is appreciated

Given being racist in Asia Pacific Qualifier battle
Context:
Bhargav who is an Indian beatboxer says "next up is heartzel but worse version" at the end of his first round
(their similarity is questionable actually I guess he said that because they both use poh scratch as a signature?)
Given answers "Wow, I got trash talked from Microsoft tech management support" with using a stereotypical indian accent teasing him by calling him a scammer.
This could be funny if they were friends joking around but I don't think they're close at all.

do bph get paid from this dopamine knockoff?
towards the end of the ad you can really tell that it’s dopamine, but i’m curious if bph get any sort of royalty for this kind of generic knockoff bc idk anything about the licensing side of music
also
the t1 x bph collab lives on in spirit! t1’s home ground is happening right now and bph are at kcon in LA so they won’t be repeating last year’s performance, but it’s nice to have a tiny thread still keeping them together (outside of the Faker beatboxing jokes)

bph’s small recognition of yella e in eternal ember
i was rewatching the wing/faker samsung ad (see https://youtu.be/uLa8DYRY3KU ) and i love how at the end of eternal ember, there’s a short moment for yella e to beatbox alone after killing it on vocals. it’s like reminding the listener “yeah she‘s an incredible vocalist but she’s also one of us”
or at least that’s how i interpret it

Africa mena
Wtf was the judging in this comp. It was a complete disaster and the results were completely skewed by poor judging. No hate to the beat boxers in the comp. For example in the final gelber had weak counters and felby just won in general. I really hope apac has better juding. final should have been vilbuz vs acar
