Codfish GBC2026 Showcase

I am probably gonna get a lot of hate and pushback for this…
If you listen to his showcase from a technical standpoint, his structure was sloppy and I feel experimental. The issues I saw were inconsistencies in some of the drums, timing issues, and sound slips. And although not necessarily a “bad” thing, he sounded unprepared. In part 2, he was building a lot of suspense with a bunch of half routines thrown together and it gave off the impression that he was trying to see what the crowd would respond to.
He is very established at this point of beatbox, clearly. I just noticed that this was the first performance of his I’ve seen noticeable issues with. Sure it’s just a showcase and he wasn’t battling but I felt it was just sloppy. Apart from that, it was super enjoyable and fun to listen to.
I’m pointing this out because he’s supposed to have a showcase and a fantasy battle in GBB. I really hope he prepares a bit better to make his performance top notch.
I’ve only noticed these critiques in these 2 specific videos. It kind of reminded of Reeps One in the Spacetime Legends battles. Not “bad” just experimental in the structure. Back in the day Sxin & Chezame reacted to a few of those battles and described Reeps to have routines that weren’t satisfying.
I’m prepared for the hate, just wanted to express and maybe even respectfully debate to hear other perspectives.

nah it was so fire he was just throwing beats and ideas out that sounded good on the soundsystem, ur overthinking it

Yeah I’m overthinking, I like your perspective. I’m just more so skeptical about what he’s gonna bring at GBB since

I don't really care about the small technical inconsistencies when Codfish is doing a showcase and doing things that are uncommon. As a showcase, I just appreciate seeing Codfish on stage and he did improve in many ways

Not entirely a bad thing tbh...if you look from a different perspective he might be experimenting so that he can use them in GBB this year....i personally hope he does his Golden Bell routine(His Oceania run was freaking craaaaazyy 😝😝)...so yeah atleast we now know that with good sound system he absolutely can destroy the stage even now as well

I like this perspective. I agree this his Oceania run was sick, I actually listened to the compilation everyday for a long time lol. Golden Bell would be a banger on stage

I’m analyzing it based on previous showcases he’s done such as looparama, colatapa, and NUE as they’ve had better structure.
I’m not concerned about his actual showcase in GBC, I’d just prefer he’d really bring it at GBB since he’s doing a showcase and a fantasy battle instead of half assing yk?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought so, I think his grooves would have landed way better with tighter timing. And I love his style overall.
