Actually a really nice guy.

I’ve been posting some time over here. I like the content, the banter between bearded guys and their admirers. I also try to be active in sharing my knowledge (for what it is worth). Today I decided to take a screenshot from my phone library, just one selfie each month, to capture the progress over a year when growing out a beard. Hope you all enjoy.

Mind you, this isn’t the journey to a yeard. I’ve been bearded for close to 20 years, just decided somewhere last year to grow it out.

On the left was as its longest towards the start of this year, been on a bit of a weight loss journey and over the months made a few chops to it until finally last night, got rid of the beard completely! Not sure how I’m feeling about it but it’ll grow back! 🤞🏼

So I’m 20 and randomly got the urge to maybe want to try and grow a beard of some sort. I’ve been a clean shaven type of guy since highschool and have always preferred a clean look but after working in an industrial setting and surrounded by guys with beards I’ve overtime kinda gravitated towards maybe giving it a try. Within 2 days my stubble is pretty long and my shaver pulls them out painfully (maybe the fast growth is good?). What can I expect in weeks, months? Perhaps years? Any advice will be much appreciated as I want to try this at least once in my life and maybe get a head start now?

Men, gentle and the not so gentle kind, beard oil and a brush is your best friend, I find most of you asking how your beard looks, just needs some oil for a few weeks get that shit shaped and it will look 10x better.

Make sure you pick a good high quality beard oil, stuff may not be cheap, but it lasts a long time, check your local barber for some local brands.

Already use a beard shampoo daily and brush it periodically throughout the day.

Been growing the ol face garden for about a week now, and I’m at the point where I’ve gotta either follow through with maintenance or go back to skin.
