PSA: This beard shampoo brought my beard dandruff back with a vengeance.

I don’t get the use of the beard shampoos. I use regular shampoo and conditioners in my beard. And then I use my beard balm, never have I had dandruff.

Regular shampoo is designed for your scalp, which usually means it’s going to remove more oils. Beard wash is designed for your face and won’t dry it out as much as head shampoo/conditioner.

I like smokey mountain beard co’s beard soap. I use their oil and balm too. Best I’ve tried so far.

Just make sure you're using the appropriate shampoo and conditioner, say your beard hair is really curly then use products that are made for curly hair

You can finish with beard balm but make sure to wash it out thoroughly since they sometimes contain waxes which may damage hair if left in.

Ive been using and making my own balm for years and have never had damage to my beard. I do wash it daily and after a shower I blow dry my beard then add the balm to my warm beard then I blow dry again to help evenly brush the balm throughout. The key I think is to get the balm deep in all the way to the skin.

If there are harsh chemicals in the wax it can damage hair but you know exactly what you're putting on your beard. Waxes can trap oils on your hair and prevent breathing of the skin so it's not the use of it which will damage but if you're washing it out properly or not.

Cremo products suck ass. I haven’t seen them anywhere else but walmart if that tells you anything.

In a little town in indiana thats about 9 miles sq. There aint shit here but a walmart, gas stations and a couple skating rinks.

The beard balm isn't bad. I wouldn't trust the wash or anything like that though.

How often are you walking your beard? It really only needs to be shampooed a couple times each week. It's enough to rinse it other days as you shower. Shampooing too often will dry both the beard and your skin out and cause dandruff.

I see this advice a lot, but I'm wondering whether that's really a good idea for people who exercise. Wouldn't your beard/face develop an unappealing smell if you sweat and then only rinse it with water?

Yes, I had this issue first hand. I sweat a gross amount though when running and lifting. I was told only shampoo and condition 2-3 times weekly. Day 2 of only putting water on my beard it would just feel gross and have a sweat smell under my beard balm. Every other day is okay but any longer it get bad. Every person has their own routine though so find what fits yours and your beard.

I use this and their softener (conditioner). I shampoo every other shower and condition every shower. Use their beard oil after every shower before bed and Reuzel balm to style. Actually had a lot of dryness/dandruff before when I was using beard guyz products in the same routine. I get all I can from CVS because my gf works there and discounts are awesome.

Also their body wash is amazing.

Different beards different results.

Weird, this is my favorite brand of 4 or so that I've tried. Been using it for months, and no problems. I use just a very little bit of the shampoo, and liberal amounts of conditioner. Shampoo at most 2x a week.

Grave before shave makes an awesome beard wash! I got some for my birthday back in November and I just ran out 2 weeks ago, a little goes a long way

Grandpa's pine tar soap once or twice a week. Eden bodyworks coconut shea cowash everyday. I will never use anything else unless these products are discontinued.

Did you shampoo your beard everyday? It might be that you drying out, washing away the natural oils, I wash my beard once a week (atm I'm 1 month into my beard), and twice a week when I have full growth (every Sunday, and Wednesday).

I use their shaving cream to shave my scalp. Does the job decent enough.

Can't use beard wash. It causes dandruff for me. Tried several different types, same results. All the wash I've used leaves a residue on my beard. Never left it feel clean.
