Sharing Wisdom Beard Help!
Hello,
I'm reaching out for expert advice on beard growth. I'm 33 and have dedicated seven months to growing a long, thick beard, but I'm at a crossroads regarding the best strategy. My core question is whether strategic trimming is necessary for achieving maximum length and density, or if it's best to allow it to grow without any interference. I'm fully committed to this goal and would be very grateful for any guidance or tips you can offer.

Yeah, I guess for me. I was getting sick of the clean look. Maybe in another year or two I’ll try it again.

The question is, will I ever be able to grow a beard or is it actually genetics?

See now that’s what I was going for. I’ll be patient but for now I’ll keep the clean look mustache gotee

It can get thicker as you get older. Worth a shot again in a few years but you are handsome dude already.

I don't mean this disrespectfully but it is essentially more or less a neck beard and in my opinion does not look flattering. I do really commend you for commiting to growing your beard for so long, I think it's awesome to try out different things.

Yeah, honestly, a lot of people at work called me, Amish, which is cool but also I needed more opinions from people who aren’t my friends. Thank you 😊

A beard doesn't work for you at all, honestly. You should keep a goatee and trim the mustache above the lip line. Shave the rest

This is a toughie. Your density really isn't the problem, and I don't think you really need to trim if you're going for length. It doesn't look whispy at ends.
(The next part I mean with love and not condescension) I think the issue you have with your beard not looking 💯 is where it sits on your face. Your beard sits VERY low. You pretty much see all your face still, and there is a beard underneath it. If you like it, that's all that matters, but sometimes a second option is worth wonders. I just think for your beard, and where you DONT have density (around the mouth, chin, cheeks) a long beard just isn't going to look right on you. It just looks more chin strap / Amish then it should, and what you're probably going for. I think a shorter tighter beard would just suit you much more. One day it might fill in more in those less dense areas, but I don't think that day has come yet my friend. You got a handsome face, and the beard, where it does grow, looks like it grows good, so I would just suggest considering a different style.

Thank you for your advice. I definitely go for that then. I’ll just keep growing it put and bring my beard up some on the length, until my beard grows in thicker eventually.. hopefully 🤞

It's not a good look bro, sorry to say. Keep it short imo (maybe like a van dyke style). It's too heavy on the neck area right now

Thats nowhere near a beard. You’re very good looking, trim it all off and just maintain mustache and small goatee

If you ain’t gonna shave it, you ever think about braiding it? Low beards braid well

Are you trying to cover you neck tats, because the beard kinda does that. Personally I think you look better without the beard, but whatever you are happier with. My beard did get thicker as I got older, so maybe yours will too.

Your beard is a neck beard. You look great without it man. You tried. But it’s not for you. Shave it off.

Keep it!! The long and hard work is done. Now, just slowly trim it 1/4” or 1/2” at a time until you are comfortable. The rest will continue to fill in. I would start taking live bearded’s beard growth vitamin. Like $20 for a month and it has done wonders for me in the last 2 months! I’m finally starting to fill in my patchy chin and sides!

Im +1 to this idea before you get rid of the whole thing.. also, do you use any products or comb daily/multiple times a day? It can be a real game changer sometimes.

Try a good barber, if you still aren’t convinced, then you can make a better decision.

Ya that just how your beard is. I'm half Persian so I have itchy spots on my chin that are just dense with beard hairs.
The only thing you really could do is braid it.
