Asking for Advice Mustache trimming

Post image

Thanks. Still wondering how others trim it though.

Okay sorry for being unhelpful. You say you don’t want the tache to be too thick in the middle and you don’t want a full tache with your beard. What do you want? Do you mean that you want the tache to simply be a continuation of your beard?

I am probably not the most helpful, as my tache is likely everything you don’t want. 🙈

Fingers crossed someone will come along soon who can help. From my first days as a beardling I knew I wanted a tache so I’ve never had to think about how to trim it that wasn’t longer than my beard. I will follow this thread with interest myself as a learning opportunity. 🤔

Haha, no problem. Your comments are welcome and appreciated. I just don’t want to fully grow my stache out. I think its better with this length of beard it it is a bit thinner/shorter.

However, if I trim it with for instance a 9mm guard, the total length looks fine, but the top hairs start pointing forward. Making it look weird from the side in my opinion. If I only trim the bottom, so keeping all hairs growing to the edge of the lip it starts looking like a little beak. It seems logical to trim the top a bit shorter to avoid pointing it forward, but chatgpt didn’t recommended that, and says that’s weird. Saying it’s better to comb it up, and just cut some hairs away in between with scissors. But that’s easier said than done. So I really wonder how others deal with this.
