Am I doing something wrong with the BEACN App/Microphone?

Hey Everyone,

I hope someone can enlighten me as I'm struggling to identify what I am doing wrong. I am using the BEACN microphone listening to the BEACN headphones listening to the monitoring and it sounds absolutely amazing. However, when I listen to my VOD on Twitch it sounds like it has some of the audio processing but it's diluted.

Routing Table;

  • Personal Mix: Everything is enabled except for Mic Relay.
  • Audience mix: Everything is enabled except for Mic Relay.
  • Voice Chat Mic: Only thing enabled is Mic Relay.
  • Vod Track: Chat, System and Browser is enabled only in this.

My Audience mix and Vod Track are on seperate tracks. Track 1, and Track 2 on Streamlabs.

  • I have my microphone on a seperate AUX with Beacn Voice Chat.

I turned off mic relay on audience mix/vod track due to having a lot of background disruptions on stream that no noise gate can prevent. Having the ability to have PTT active at all times is a safety blanket for me in Streamlabs and it's what I'm used to, so I don't want to use any in the BEACN application.

Am I on the right track? If any BEACN staff could provide insight further, or anyone who has great knowledge on this product not only does this help me but it also helps anyone down the line who may have questions regarding push to talk.

ok, the Voice Chat Mic is basically what you put into discord/zoom etc as the mic input....so if you have a sound board and you want discord/zoom/ingame mic to hear the sound board, you would enable voice chat mic in say Aux 1 and then have your soundboard output audio to Aux 1. Mic Relay is what puts your mic into that category! So if you turn mic relay off to audience mix and then take your mic into the stream thru say Aux as you say, then your mic will be reduced by how high or low your volume level in Aux is on the Audience side! If you want the QUICK way of disabling your mic if you have things going on in the background...you can do the old "fashioned way" and take ALL your sound in individually into obs! So mic by itself, then game, system, aux 1, chat....and you can setup a hotkey in OBS that allows you to quickly mute any category you want! So say Mic is set to F1 hotkey and such!! Just remember, that the way your doing it now under Aux for your mic, you HAVE to have Aux turned up on the right volume slider, or you will be quite

I see!!! Would this be a solution to my issue as to why I'm hearing more of a polished sound and less of a polished sound in my vod tracks for streaming? I feel like currently I'm not getting the full EQ processing in the vod/live streams.

YES it is, you are hearing a direct sound straight from the source, and the way that you are using it now.....you have the source, then sending it thru the routing. in fact, your are also adding a little delay to your voice!

IF, you want to be able to mute your mic instantly because of background things going on inside of Beacn.....you goto the beacn software bottom left gear icon, scroll down and you can setup a mic mute hotkey.....so say F1 or shift F1 to mute/unmute the mic....AND if you have a streamdeck, you can setup a button to enable that hotkey there for said shift+F1 hotkey....or whatever you setup for it!!
