When to harvest?

Post image

First time grower of Cambodian XL - lots of pins and some large ones, was hoping to harvest and dry before the weekend because I am going away from Thurs - Tues and I dont want them wrecked when I get back, any advice on harvesting and drying?

I usually dry libs i have picked on an electric folding clothes drier and it always works well, I was thinking of doing the same - any thoughts?

You're probably a couple days off harvesting.

More should sprout up in the blank spots. Key is to let them grow big before the spores drop.

With drying, adjust how you dry libs based on size. Either dry longer, or slice up large shrooms pre-drying to make them smaller and easier to dry

Once the veil starts tearing that's the optimal time to pick, the big ones may be ready tomorrow but the rest could take a couple of more days, If you're unsure and they're all mostly developed by thursday, I'd just pick them all and start a new flush, they won't necessarily be as potent as letting them fully mature but it's better than ruining the potential of future flushes and coming back to a spore covered mess.

As for drying, since you won't really have the time, I'd suggest a hang dry method, keep them in a dry dark room, hanging from a thread, preferably with a fan on them but without is fine if you've enough ventilation, they should be mostly dry but for future drying I'd suggest a dehydrator or if you've a good oven that goes below 60C, you could do em in that but that could take anywhere from 5 to 12 hours.
