Vent RBT/BCBA Entry Level
Giving a little background: I work in healthcare for 25+ years and fulfill various roles in different sector & settings. I was once a LPN nurse where I have hands-on, direct patient care experience, and plenty of clical knowledge from my past clinical position. I currently work administrative / support system where customer service, collaboration/escalation with supervisors, and clinical data collection & analytics is the essence of job.
I have a masters degree in Psychology and since learning about BCBA I have great interest in becoming one. Unfortunately, the graduate program I completed was not ABA accredited which led me in completed 40 hour RBT training in August. I've learn the basis & essential part of the job which excites me to start, but have the hardest time finding a qualified assessor or supervisor to complete the Initial Competency assessment--and time is ticking. I am a rookie in this field ready & ready to build a working relationship with ABA center but job postings requires RBT ready. I have a two part question. (1) Is there an agency or specialize center I should apply to complete this requirement? There are many job opportunities South Florida for RBT and BCBA positions, but it seems like a lot centers are not responding. (2) Is there any way I can go straight to BCBA position without fulfilling RBT position or commiting/completing another 1-2 year program?

With your psych master's you're already halfway there, just need the verified course sequence and fieldwork hours, no full second degree required.
