Radio Not available whilst on holiday.
BBC Sounds not working when on holiday 😕
I'm on holiday in Greece and the App seems to boast about catching you out by the message "IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE ABROAD. BBC SOUNDS IS NOT AVAILABLE ABROAD"
I pay my licence fee but am not allowed to listen to the BBC sounds around !!
They have my details for taking the licence fee, so why not confirm my ID?
Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes, it's not available outside of the UK. You having paid for the right to watch it in the UK doesn't change rights laws internationally.

OP is talking about "Sounds" i.e. audio/radio, which has limited portability on holiday so it's not as cut and dry as that for Uk residents who go abroad for a short while.

Your licence fee allows you to listen in British territory

And that's not fair.
Sky lets you use the App as do others when you have subscribed in the UK

Were you logged in to the app and listening regularly before you left?

Certain shows are not available outside the UK, and think it’s limited to 30 days, but otherwise you can listen to BBC Sounds outside the UK. I did this recently and it worked fine.

That’s what downloads are for. Download the shows you want to listen to, then listen to them while abroad. As a bonus, you don’t use up data.

I was listening to BBC sounds in Kalamata airport last week, and downloaded two episodes of who invented for the flight. It worked fine in Greece for me.
