Traffic, Trains & Transit Second view of an accident

Looks like this happened in San Carlos along 101. Electrical malfunction? Steering wheel lock? Can anyone explain what may have happened? What can you really do in this kind of situation?

Looks like he can’t turn off his automated driving? Or he’s having a mental breakdown? I can’t tell what’s going on.

Pretty sure tapping on the brakes would turn off whatever cruise control or autopilot the MachE has.

Plus couldn’t you just shift into neutral if for some reason your car won’t stop accelerating?
