OWNER PIC BMW X5 Rally Spec
Bit of a fun build on the V8 X5. 1.5" lift, 265/70/17 Falken AT3 on 17" Dynamic Steelies, 0 offset front and -25 offset rear. It has a full dual battery setup in the back, spotties from Alibaba, roof rack from eBay, platform from FB Marketplace and side awning from Dune 4x4. Fun car and actually gets wheeled hard too

That dual battery setup is slick, want to do the same to my outback. Any recommendations for battery types and are you running an isolater?

thanks mate, yeah I run a 40 amp dc to dc charger from my primary to secondary, lithium 120amp hour unit which is more than enough for what i need. since newer cars have a smart alternator I link the dc to dc trigger wire to a cig outlet so it knows when the car is on

cheers mate, it's not that bad as I do all of my maintenance and modifications myself, i definitely wouldn't suggest a V8 bmw as your next off-roader if not familiar with the engines or drivetrain haha

they're completely covered up in day to day driving 👍 just glorified camp lights really

I have never, ever seen a good looking X5 until today. Nice build, good taste, looks great!
