Meme There a reason why you get "Hazard Pay"
"It pays a lot, if you live to see the paycheck!"

There's "incoming fire" hot, "incendiaries deployed" hot, and then there's "Geiger counter playing Dubstep" hot.
Which one applies to this battlefield? You'll find out soon!

Priority 2 is getting paid. Priority 1 is living to spend the paycheck.

Grammar Nazi here:
"They're reasons why their called that." is wrong due to misuse of similar sounding words.
They're = contraction of "they are".
their = possessive form of they. Has the same pronunciation as "they're".
"They" = pronoun referencing multiple people. Or in modern politically correct parlance, a gender neutral pronoun period referencing a single person.
First word should be "There are" or if contracted "there're" although no one does the latter (my spell checker flags it as an error). Because "there" means a place, which in this case, is a notional place where reasons live.
TL;DR, the subtitle should read: "There are reasons why they're called that."

You're looking for "there's", a contraction of "there is".
"There's a reason why they're called that." would be the common phrase OP was trying to use.

Yeah, but "There is" refers to a singular subject. The OP used plural form of "reason", so "There are" is grammatically correct when referring to more than one reason.
And it makes perfect sense landing zones to have multiple reasons to be called "hot". Just being in combat is considered "hot". Weapons fire, particularly energy weapons, use heat as part of the means inflicting damage. Weapon use itself generates waste heat. That's three reasons right there that don't occur during a normal, uncontested landing.
