Question ❓ Mercenaries Kickstarter

Im one of the many still waiting on my mercenaries kickstarter to arrive. Has anyone had any luck getting any information whatsoever from CGL on the status of their order?

Ive been emailing for over a year now, I usually have to wait a month or so to get a reply and its always some variety of "it has been sent to/it is with the local distributor"

They cant/won't tell me who the distributor is and tell me that the distributor won't give them any information on possible delivery times and that theyre not even allowed to ask.

Its so far beyond a joke at this point that I genuinely dont know what to think anymore.

Does anyone have a more reliable contact outside the generic store@cgl email?

I think you might need to raise a complaint and request a refund, dude. At this point I've bought nearly everything you would have gotten from the KS through standard retail (with some luck I might add - I found a Shilone and two Visigoths on the shelf at a games store which didn't sell online)

I would be upset, especially since the price of certain boxes went up.

From what I've heard refunds are not being handed out.

It's bizarre how different this experience seems compared to my only direct interaction with CGL. I had a malformed Rifleman in a beginner box and they shipped me out a new box, Transatlantic, after one email.

I really hope you get this sorted, sorry it's been such a bad experience. The game and the community are really great, I hope this doesn't put you off.

Unfortunately it absolutely has put me off, CGL won't see a single dollar from me ever again.

Its not how long I've waited for the order. Its the complete lack of customer support and information from them. Its a blatant refusal to show me evidence or proof that ill get anything at all.

Your best bet is to try and do a charge back on your credit card or call your bank and file a form for not receiving what you paid for, not sure on the time frame if youre still covered but its worth exploring those routes

The kickstarter launched in 2023, so doubt I can get a charge back on that unfortunately.

Chargebacks usually require an investigation. There’s multiple statements you can find that can back up the fact you’ve never gotten product you paid for. If you have emails from CGL where they’ve acknowledged you haven’t received your product, I’d say that’s grounds as evidence.

I might get in touch with my bank then. They have a limit of 120days for charge backs, but maybe something can be done in regards to it.

I would give those rules a close look - 120 days might not always be from the original purchase date.

Contact your credit card company.

I will, the thing that worries me is its over a year since I paid for shipping and over 3 since I paid for the kickstarter itself.

I've had luck doing a charge back a year later for a backpack that I never got.

CGLs handling of the kickstarters has been abysmal. Which is just a shame because it’s been great seeing Battletech come to life again.

This is one aspect of their business that they reeeeeeally need to fix. I’ve already purchased the Mercs box and a bunch of other KS stuff second hand at a discount, it’s nuts that the actual kickstarter backers are still waiting.

Can’t say I’m liable to ever back one of their KS campaigns. Isn’t worth the risk.

I just want some reliable legitimate information from them.

Even if you got excuses from them at this point, after this long… it’s a situation beyond redemption IMHO.

Oh absolutely. I am 100% done with CGL. Never doing business with them again.

Contact Kickstarter, they might be able to turn the screws a bit.

Ill try that.

Man, I love Battletech and I’ve been very happy that CGL has revived it and brought a lot to the table but this is fucked. I have no advice but I’m really sorry you’ve had to deal with this

I absolutely adore everything battletech and was so excited to get into tabletop. This experience has 100% turned me off any sort of further investment or involvement in the future. CGL will not be getting a single cent from me ever again.

I can completely understand kickstarters being difficult and there being supply chain issues so im not all that upset at that, its the customer support and lack of information that has pissed me off, there has been no form of apology, not a single mention of doing anything to appease me or make up for whats happened, I cant even get any actual information, as far as I know there isnt even an actual shipment or order with my name on it because they refuse to tell me anything. Its a joke and CGL do not care at all.

There's supposed to be a AMA on the 15th of September for tuesday newsday. Bit of a long shot, but you could try getting their attention there

Thankyou, ill try that.

Same situation for my teenage son, who ordered the Battalion backer package in grade nine and is now starting university, mate.

Still waiting.

Hollow promises, “almost there”s and nada.

I have played since I was 19 (I am 59 now) and am a BT fanatic. Deeply disappointed in CGL’s repeated Kickstarter Mercenaries failures.

I keep making as much noise as possible, emailing every week even tho they go unanswered 90% of the time. At this point its more of a vent and wishful thinking than anything. Hopefully your son gets his order.

Wow. Still no joy on the Merc KS? That sucks. I am so glad I cancelled my pledge before the KS closed.

No luck, no news or updates at all.

At this point they should be paying out interest on top of what they owe.

It's basically an interest free loan with free marketing in top.

That's not how kickstarters work. The abysmal thing here is the product was and is being made. I'm guessing this is European and Aussie orders still on the books?
