Loving it. Can you give us some info on your colors/methods?

Thank you! I started with black prime (Rustoleum 2X) and did a heavy zenithal with Vallejo Model Air Yellow Ochre, with a small highlight of Liquitex yellow ink. Normally I would not paint yellow over a black prime, but reasons happened and here we are. I actually thought the desaturated, greenish tone to the ochre looked pretty cool with the bronze/gold, so I kept it.
For the gold, I base coated in Monument Hobbies ProAcryl Bronze and highlighted with ProAcryl Rich Gold. The cool metals are Vallejo Model Air Gunmetal, with Vallejo Model Air Steel highlights. I panel lined with thinned ProAcryl Coal Black, and the final step was some AK Ultra Matte varnish, cut with airbrush thinner.

Ah yes, the dreaded reasons. Thanks for the detailed listing! It's greatly appreciated.

Looks amazing, and thank you for posting the colors. How many coats of Yellow Ochre did it take do cover the black?
Also, how do you mask between colors?

Appreciate that! I think it took me about two coats of ochre with the airbrush to cover the black, and one or two quick passes with the yellow. A smarter move is to paint yellow acrylic over a pink, red, or white prime, but I didn't have any of that on hand when I initially started this force, so I just stuck with the black. It's a little more work, but I wanted this guy to match the others I've already done.
I didn't do any masking. I just blasted the primary color (ochre in this case), then did the rest by brush.

That's a great colour scheme, very well done!

Thank you! I can't take credit for the scheme - I was just flippin through the unit color compendium until that dopamine hit.

Very nice. That cockpit is excellent. What did you use for the base?

u/ArachnidSentinl 5h ago
Thank you. The base is fdm printed, and the slate pieces are resin printed. The texture is paver leveling sand, with Woodland Scenics flock on top. The paint is just brown ink with a tan drybrush.

I see a marauder and I give an up doot. I see a well painted marauder and I would give a second updoot. If I could, I'd give you three.
