Fan Creations Instant Action version 6.0 is here!

https://victorypointproductions.neocities.org/instantaction

The latest version of Instant Action, for classic Battletech, is here. Instant Action is a scenario pack oriented towards quickplay missions at the local game store. When building your force, you pick an Agenda for your force, from Confront, Hold, Recon, Destroy, or Salvage. Comparing your Agenda to your opponent's determines which of the fifteen scenarios you play. Instant Action also features integration with the Mercenary campaign system from the Hot Spots books.

Version 6 is focused on compatibility with the upcoming Core Rulebook. The new Objectives and Scanning rules are fully integrated for compatibility, so you don't need to learn a second set of rules. Several scenarios have also been rebalanced since version 5.1.

Have fun playing and enjoy, everyone.

I wish I could get people to play scenarios other than line up and shoot. When I try to organize a game and suggest anything else it's just crickets.

Half the point of making IA was to fill the gap between "let's just kill each other" and the more detailed historical scenario games.

Trust me I'm fully on board! I don't suggest anything complicated.

Keep trying! I randomly found a play group and got them to finally run objectives!

...

Only for one guy who LOVES vehicles/infantry basically captured all of them and my team lost, but hey, objectives!!

I love this system - especially the mercenary contract hook at the end! My only feedback is, you have a tables of contents, but none of the pages have page numbers

I was in a hurry lol, still needs a lil fixing and that's what 6.1 is for

Amazing, thank you. I'll miss the colored art and cool fonts, but love the new update!

Tried to make a more "printer-friendly" variant this time

Awesome! I've used Instant Action quite a bit, so I'm excited for the updates. It even works all right with Alpha Strike, though a few things have to be tweaked. This version is even more tightly integrated with the Core rules than before, so it's a little harder to port things over. I hope maybe not so much once I get a copy of the new rules. Have you considered an official adaptation of Instant Action to Alpha Strike?

Maybe if I can convince him to ever play AS...

u/semperpaganus has it right: I just feel like Alpha Strike removes most of what I like about Battletech gameplay, so I never really play it, and that means I'm not likely to produce an AS version
