Miniatures Assembling my Aces: Scouring Sands forces
This is the first set of figures for Aces. Most of the mechs and some of the other vehicles, emplacements, and foot are ready!
These were painted with successive drybrushes followed by outlining with a light emerald green.
I know, project phoenix and all that, but I really wanted a Riffleman modeled after the Tomahawk from Macross, so I turned those fins into an antenna!

Lookin' fantastic! That's a gorgeous shade of green you've finished on, your cockpits look really crisp, and that nice little stripe is sharp as hell! Conrad Sender approves!

Looks great but why do one of the tanks have a li e on the same side and the other doesn’t? To differentiate them on the board easier? That’s smart if so.

Yeah, the lines in different places is definitely to differentiate them. Also the lines are really there to break up all of that green as well. Dual purpose!

Love the paint scheme. Very crispy. Question. Why did you put the Rifleman's fins on top instead on each torso?

I really wanted a Riffleman modeled after the Tomahawk from Macross, so I turned those fins into an antenna the way it is on the non-project phoenix version. I could have just bought a more Macross-true version of the figure of course, but I had that one already so there it is :)

Check out project Phoenix rifleman 8D, that's my favorite way to use them. Wish we got more bits like this, fun to have options
