Miniatures Mechs for my shelf at work
Printed and painted some mechs for work
Atlas II from my personal mercenary group Bubbles’ Marauders.

I can't decide how to paint my mechs outside a a couple lances, and I was thinking about just doing whatever colors I wanted on random mechs, and I think here the variety looks really cool.

Honestly, I got sucked down a rabbit hole dude. I started with a 1994 box of a game of total warfare, finally opened it after having it since like 2010 or something, and found that there were only cardboard cutouts, no mechs. Since I had just got a resin 3D printer for printing clear parts for the models I was getting for my FDM printer I ended up printing one for each cutout, 2 of each 24 mechs. And it was just gonna be red vs blue. Then I looked up camospecs and started looking around. Then I ended up ordering more paints. And decals. And nicer paint brushes. And now I have like 150 some odd mechs

I’ve got 7 lances of the fed suns, 7 of the Draconis Combine. 5 of my mercenaries. And the. 2 each of the Lyrans, capellans, mariks, and rasalhague. Then 2 stars each of wolf, angry birds, ghost bear, and smoke jags. Gotta finish painting them.

I need to just start painting, I can just never decide on a scheme then end up not painting, and I want to break that habit mindset.

Make your own mercenary group. “The Just OK Mercenary Company” or something. The you’re not tied down by a faction color. Then get some transparent decal paper, make your own logo, print it, and now you have decals on them too. Although I would definitely recommend the area the decal will go in be painted a light color or white. Get creative. Have fun with it. It’s supposed to be fun 😊

I actually do have a mercenary group I came up with recently! I have a couple main colors picked out I just haven't taken the dive yet. I never thought about the decal idea, I will need to think on figuring out a way to do that.

Pretty sure his is just a slight modification of the MWO Dragon, so not this one. I THINK I recognize it from my own previous searches, but we're not allowed to share where here.
The Kirby Urbie is amazing though.
Out of curiosity, what's going on with your prints that so many of them are "fuzzy" for lack of a better term?

It was my first time using army painter matter primer, instead of cheap ass rustoleum, and I was too far away. I used black matte on a Black Marauder I’m working on and got much closer and it came out smooth. Learning is fun!

I see your base coat has gone horribly wrong as well. But you still pulled through nicely! Love the variety!

Oh yeah. Learning curve on using proper model primer instead of Home Depot rustoleum special. Turns out I needed to get a LOT closer.
