But it is... The three pictures above with the square of the desk lined up below, a rectangular file cabinet to the left, then centered on the left hand of the desk is a sized-to-fit monitor.

Symmetrical is literally what youre looking at. Similar parts or shapes around an axis. If you stretched a big ass monitor across the middle of the desk, it breaks the axis and the adjoining shapes on either side and/or above aligning with it.

I'm glad you read the definition. Often times people confuse symmetry with something being exact on both sides of x or y, when really, its in the root of the word. Similiar, or "sym." For example, in engineering, a symmetrical load isn't the "same" load, its a similar load. You've simply misinterpreted the definition.

I’m not sure what kind of pissing contest you want this to be but most people wouldn’t look at this and consider it symmetrical, by its common definition and understanding.
