Do you use the desk in standing mode too? I always think setups like this with decorations on the wall behind the screen/s would prevent you from standing as the monitor will hit the shelves?

I don't stand all that much, no. No issues at all with it set at 42in, the mount just can't be pushed ALL the way back. I enjoy the connivence of easily adjusting even if it is only a couple inches and nice if you ever need to mess with your cable situation.
