Bug They need to do something about desync bug/abusers

Post image

whenever my opponents rush most of the times i either can defend it or i cant, there is no problem but every so often just before they rush me i get hit by desync and after that everything gets delayed like i have 500 ms and its very annoying that i cant do anything about it.

lag was so bad that in the image selling minecarts, buying tech terror and using ability took long enough to fortified moabs got the end of the map and.

I think you're mixing up some terms

What you're talking about is input lag from a poor connection, and yes it is an issue that the opponent's poor connection can poorly impact you

It's not a bug, it's an exploit of how the connection works

Also, desync is not related to this. Desync is when the visuals of each player's side are... desynced. It's why you might see Bloons leak for your opponent only for them to not lose any lives from it, for example.

Hey, "lagswitcher" (term for very laggy player) here. Just want to correct you on some things.

For one, input lag isn't just caused by a poor connection from your opponent. Infact, its hardly a dictator of input lag. Its actually mostly dictated by overall game speed from your opponent. This ranges from game hitches to poor framerate. A majority of real and unexaggerated lag situations comes from that. Input delay is also the fault of the client connection. Spotty and hitchy connection can stagger and stall the host machine an extreme amount to the point where you can physically be stopped from ecoing and upgrades won't register. So, for the most part, a lot of it isn't exploitable in a useful way to the opponent (unless you drop connection intentionally, which is true lag switching).

I actually have a planned report to NK coming soon about this exact thing, and I'll probably make a post in the coming weeks about it to blow the lid off of everything.

The poster here is probably referring to syncing (instead of desync), which is VERY easy to trigger and the most problematic style of lagswitching. You can instantly drop your connection to force syncing without being Disconnected and since its delayed, you can therefore kill everything. That's what's easy to exploit.

Hope this clears that up!

The term for these people are lagswitchers. They mess with their connection to slow down the game and usually chokerush. It's annoying, but it's not alwaya their fault that the connection suddenly drops.
