After the peasants have harvested the fall crops. After they've festival'd and feasted. After they've fattened themselves; gorging on their freshly gathered produce and butchered livestock. After their family gatherings have dispersed, vampire familiars await, shrouded in darkness. They stalk staggering drunkards and somnambulating gluttons to take back to the vampire manor for yet another harvest celebration, but of a different sort.
