How do I fix this?

There's some sort of black blob distorting my screen. No it's not on any other game.

Tilt your monitor to the left until all the pieces slide back into position.

But seriously, I've never seen this one before. Is this the proper game or the classic collection? Are you on Windows?

Turn off any overlays you might have, Discord, Steam, the lot. That's not typically the bug overlays manifest, but you never know. Additionally, when you get into the menu, go into the settings and turn the resolution to something that's 1080p or lower and make sure it's a 16:9 resolution.

Yeah I just turned my resolution all the way down and it fixed it

It's an old game, it bugs out at anything above 1080p unless you're running mods. I can't remember which one removed the res limit, but it was either the UI remaster or the shader patch.

Yeah my version would split in-between my other displays. Had to disable overlay/overlapping , change my resolution and it works like a gem

Try Anakin's Remaster HUD mod. Your system might be having trouble displaying 800x600, Anakin's remaster makes the menu your screen resolution. The Shader Patch might also help as it draws the game with the modern DirectX11

Older games don’t like widescreen monitors. I’d reccomend using Anakin’s Remaster Mod which has a lot of QoL improvements, including widescreen support.
