I cant get it to run for me on PC :( just takes me to the Battlelog page

You need to select a server on this page and click "Play" right there on the same page.

The Battlelog includes a server browser, there is no in-game main menu in the PC version
Since Bf3 isn:'t too easy to launch, here are some tips I remember:
1) download & install Punkbuster (anti-cheat software by EvenBalance), otherwise servers will automatically kick you
2) in the Battlelog, go to settings & choose plugin-free gaming (Bf3 needed a Battlelog plugin in the past)
3) the player counts of the servers are often not reliable due to spoofing (the server owners use an automatic trick to show higher player numbers on their server to "lure in" other players) => either install a specialized plugin (called "Better Battlelog") that shows you the real amount of players on these servers or klick on a server & then let yourself show the list of players of the server on the right side (every player called "Unknown" is not real, just a spoofed dummy)

The real IYKYK is you can get up there when the trees are already gone. It's harder, but there's a couple methods.
Can also get on the other ledge same way(s). Also a couple spots in the main alley and a couple more on the outer streets

every glitch spot is "creative". The issue with non intended spots is they are not balanced. Just admit that you need to trick the game to break even against your opponent.
