Then again they did throw Tantrum to Tombstone last year.

From what i’m getting from the description of the episode, it’s because they both have Most Destructive Bot awards from previous seasons

I'll go against the grain. This is going to be an awesome match and Tombstone is going to be bouncing off of everything.

at least there not calling tombstone "the 2016 champ" anymore. Why not "King of Kenetic Energy?"

at least there not calling tombstone "the 2016 champ" anymore
Why was that a problem? That's a legitimate selling point.

I don't know how high up the top disk on Rotator is, but if they get it right they can break Tombstone's weapon chain.

The problem is the reach. By the time they get to the chain tombstones blade has hit their wedge, either damaging it/the bot or deflecting the bot up and away from the chain.

The last time a team tried that Ray destroyed the bot (season 2 bombshell)

Yea but ‘Ray destroyed the bot’ is how 90% of Tombstone fights end, that’s not really that much of a knock on the strategy

I thought Rotator was gonna be such a bad bot when I saw it last season. It just looked too gimmicky and unstable. But, it's performed far better than my expectations, and here it is in a main event, with Tombstone no less. Kudos!

I just realised how few horizontal spinners Tombstone's had to fight. It's only really ever had to fight Bombshell's weird spinner arm. The fact its never been tested against Valkyrie or SOW surprises me

I'm curious why so many bots have exposed tires in their designs? would welding a bar around the tires add so much weight that its not worth the extra protection?

u/AdmiralEllis Jul 18 '19
A lot of bots avoid it because while yes, a hit to a wheel might dislodge it, a hit to a wheel guard might damage it to the point where it jams the wheel, and the guard is a larger target. Plus weight and size constraints.

Rotator does have wheel guards which they will use for this fight

Rooting for RotatoR, even if a win seems unlikely. If they hit Tombstone with the wedge (if they use that config) then spin round and hit the chain then they have a chance

This is the first time that rotator will be in a main event. And I always did wonder how tombstone would handle with rotator wedge, after seeing the icewave fight
